Cookie Policy
Effective date: April 1, 2026
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your web browser. They help websites remember your preferences and improve your experience. We also use browser localStorage, which serves a similar purpose but stays on your device and is not sent to our servers with each request.
2. Cookies We Use
Bortoh uses a minimal set of cookies and local storage. Here is a complete list:
Necessary cookies
These are required for Bortoh to function. They cannot be disabled.
Authentication session
Keeps you signed in across page visits. Expires when you sign out or after the session timeout.
Theme preference (localStorage)
Remembers whether you chose dark or light mode. Stays on your device and is never sent to our servers.
Chat conversation tabs (localStorage)
Stores which conversation tabs you have open so they persist when you refresh the page. Local to your browser only.
Analytics cookies
These help us understand how the product is used so we can improve it.
Website analytics cookies
Collects anonymous usage data: pages visited, time on site, general interaction patterns. Data is aggregated and not tied to your financial information. Expires after 2 years.
3. What We Don't Use
Bortoh does not use:
- Advertising or tracking cookies
- Third-party social media cookies
- Cross-site tracking pixels
- Fingerprinting or device identification beyond standard cookies
4. Managing Cookies
You can manage cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:
- View and delete existing cookies
- Block all cookies or third-party cookies
- Set preferences for specific websites
Note that blocking necessary cookies (authentication) will prevent you from signing in. Blocking analytics cookies will not affect your use of Bortoh.
To opt out of website analytics specifically, you can use your browser's privacy settings or install an analytics opt-out extension.
5. Changes to This Policy
If we add new cookies or change how we use them, we'll update this page. For significant changes, we'll notify you through the app.
